marketindex offers leveraged products that carry a high degree of risk and it is possible to lose your entire investment (i.e. your total account balance).
Do I need to sign up to use the mobile trading platform?
When you first log in to your live trading account through the mobile application you will be requested to accept the Terms & Conditions of mobile trading. If you do not accept these you will not be able to trade via your mobile.
How do I download the mobile trading platform?
For Android devices the application is available from Google Play – simply search for the application by using the keyword “marketindex”. For iPhone devices the application is available via the AppStore when searching for "marketindex". Full details are available on our Mobile section.
How do I use the mobile trading platform?
For detailed information about how to use the mobile trading platform please refer to the Mobile Trading User Guide in our Mobile section.
Why can I not find the marketindex application in Google Play?
Your Mobile’s operating system does not support this application. marketindex applications are supported by Android Operating Systems v1.6 and above. Contact your Mobile’s provider to find out if upgrading is an option.
Is the mobile trading platform service free?
Yes, the mobile trading application is free for demo and live clients. However please be aware the mobile application requires an internet connection, therefore whilst running the application you may incur additional charges from your Mobile provider for data use and roaming.
I already have an account with marketindex. Do I need a separate account for my mobile device?
No separate account is required – in fact you use the same account log in details to access your account through the mobile device as you use through the web platform. Both live and demo trading accounts are supported by the mobile platform.
Can I switch between my trading accounts on the mobile trading platform?
Yes. You can alternate between your primary and sub accounts in the Accounts section available from the main menu page.
Are my preference quote lists that I create on my mobile replicated in my marketindex live web platform?
No. Your preference quotes lists are stored on the mobile device itself and are not synchronised to the web platform. Likewise your preferences made on the mobile device are not stored web platform.
Are my preference quote lists that I create on my demo account on mobile separate from my live account on mobile?
No. Your preference quotes lists are stored on the mobile device itself and so will be the same between your demo and live account on the mobile device.
What happens if I lose the connection when I’m in the middle of placing a trade?
If you do not receive a confirmation screen then it is likely your trade has not gone through. You can go to the trades screen and check your positions to see whether or not the trade has been executed.
Mobile internet connections may not be available due to circumstances beyond our control, such as outages on the mobile phone network or in areas of either no or limited mobile coverage.
Are live charts available?
Charts and rates will be displayed as live with updates dependent upon your Mobile’s internet connection. Real-time (“live”) may not be available due to circumstances beyond our control, such as outages on the mobile phone network or in areas of either no or limited mobile coverage.
To see a chart for any product, simply click the candlestick icon displayed at the bottom of the “Quotes”, “Trades”, “Orders”, “Positions” or “Buy/Sell” screen. You will be able to view a candlestick chart type only.
Can I zoom in on charts?
Zoom functionality is not supported on the mobile trading platform, however you can see more detailed charts by positioning your handset horizontally and by changing the time interval from 5 secs up to 1 day.
Does the marketindex Mobile Platform have all of the same feature as the marketindex web platform?
No, some features of the marketindex Web Platform are not available on the marketindex Mobile Platform. Key differences include, but are not limited to, limited charting types, no zoom functionality on charts, no charting indicators. Traders should familiarise themselves with the functionality of the Mobile device by using the demo version prior to trading with actual funds.
Will other mobile devices be supported?
We hope to add additional devices in the future and launch versions for tablets. We will publish information about new mobile applications when these are made available. We will endeavour to communicate any updates of our mobile trading platform to you.
How are our mobile application updates managed?
Any updates for the Android ( or iPhone ) marketindex mobile application will be released via Google Play ( AppStore ). When this happens, your handset should alert you that a newer version of the application is available and ask you if you would like to update. If your handset fails to do this, you can always manually search for "marketindex" in Google Play ( AppStore ) and choose to install any available updates.
